We are a small family business based in Edogawa, Tokyo passionate about all things food and showcasing our culture to the world. Our mission at JCG is to enable visitors to live like locals, and experience our rich historical and evolving cuisine through a modern and traditional lens. We strive for our products to offer authentic experiences to tourists to showcase regional cuisines, local favourites and to offer insight into modern and historical daily lives of Japanese people.

A few years ago, one of our team returned back from studying abroad in America, and realised that many of his international friends were using English social media and popular tourism websites to find places to eat in Japan, and they showcased foods exceedingly dissimilar from what Japanese people frequent in their cities.

Many of his friends, were going to chain restaurants or gimmicky stores that many Japanese people would never visit, or are well-known by locals to be targeted to tourists and foreign palates, for example a certain ramen restaurant.. 

​

Further, we have found that many tourists spend hours combing the internet for places to eat in advance, and during the day, wasting hours of your precious holiday time just to fall back into the same few restaurants marketed heavily towards English speakers.  

​

Our goal is to change this by providing an easy to use platform, which offers limitless authentic and locally loved of options across Japan, which have all been selected by local CEOs, who are famous in Japan for dining clients, employees and partners, with very limited time to cook.
